Back to Fall! School Essentials Edition

The second part of the Back to Fall Edition is here!

I am so excited for back to school because this will be my last semester. Graduation December 2014!!!! I feel I have been school since forever!

In this post, I am going to focus on back to school essentials. Starting from my preference for school bags all the way to the items I take with me every class.

I am going to be taking 10 classes this semester (I know crazy) but one of them is Photography so I am so excited for that class. The rest of the classes will be group projects, I am in Marketing, so everything we do involves group projects.

Must have

  1. An agenda
If I do not write down I am not going to remember what needs to get done. I find myself easier to keep track of my day to day on an agenda that if I put it on my phone.

I got this cute Australian agenda as a gift from my boyfriend from our anniversary. It is real leather and the good think is that is not has date so you can start it whenever you need.

     2. Cute and useful school supplies

I need to have colourful pens, highlighters and so on. I feel it makes my notes look good and it is easier when I wanna study; because if the principal ideas are already highlighted I know I need to focus on that.
I keep everything in this cute Kate Spade pencil case!

As well, I keep different sticky notes and paper clicks. I found these too in a store in Toronto. Plus I feel they match each other!

Also, when I am just taking one class I prefer to take my notes in a separated folder (I found this at the Dollarstore) or I take my notes in small notebooks. I love mine Christian Louboutin notebook it is so stylish; if you are wondering where I got it from, the Christian Louboutin shoe exhibition.

   3. Technology

Sometime I see people on class with everything, their computer, their tablet, their phone plus their e-reader. I found this so stupid why do you need to bring everything to class?

I only bring my computer for those classes that I know I will be taking a lot of notes or if I have a group meeting. I prefer to take my mini iPad when the teachers sent the Power Points or those are posted online so it is easy for me to follow the class.

It is always important to protect your technology. For my Mac, I use a turquoise sleeve from Kate Spade and for my Mini iPad I use mi leather sleeve from Michael Kors.

  4. A good trusty bag

It has been two semester with the same bag and it looks PERFECT!! I got it on sale from Marshal's and it was such a deal! It is real leather and I fit everything on it.

Also, the way the bag is made I can take put everything on it and I do not feel the weight on my shoulder or back.
I am not a fan of backpacks. I only have one from American Apparel that I never use.

I hope you like my school essentials. Please let me know which are yours :)
Next post will be School outfits!

Back to Fall edition!!!

It is about that time of the year... Goodbye summer, Hello Fall and Hello school!

I get really excited around the Fall. It is one of my favourite season; the street look pretty with all the leaves on it, it is still sunny but kind of chilly and the fashion is amazing!!! I love layering and combining summer pieces with winter looking pieces.

The season is changing and it is also our make up, style and food preferences. For that, I have decided to do a Back to Fall edition, plus some back to school essentials as well.

BACK TO FALL- MAKE UP EDITION

As this season approaches our tan starts fading and our skin tends to look and feel a lit bit dry.  For that, I update my skin routine with a serum such as Tarte Pure Maracuja oil. I apply this every night and before my make up. It adds a nice moisture and keeps my skin looking extra healthy.
I continue with my everyday skin routine (check post)

My make up gets more "complicated and busy". I use this season to experiment with darker blushes and stronger lip products. Some of my favourites are:
  • Mac Hang-Up for a bold lip;
  • Elizabeth Arden in Sugar perfect for a natural look;
  • Bobbi Brown in Old Hollywood when I want a pop of colour;
  • Clinique think bronze is perfect when you are in that stage between tan and not tan. I do not know what the formula has, but it makes me look tanner.

For blushes I like to use stronger pinks such as Be a bombshell Beach please or the Radiant orchid from the limited edition Sephora Pantone Universe cheek palette. Both of this colour have a purple undertone that goes perfect with my pale winter skin.
Bronzer, I keep it simple with my trusty Rimmel Natural Bronzer in 022 Sun Bronze. I love this product; it last a really long time and it is waterproof! (this is my 3rd pot lol)

I used my everyday-every season BB cream by Maybelline in Light sheer tint. I love this product, it gives me the perfect coverage and does not feel like make up at all. I have been trying a new concealer, Age Rewind by Maybelline which it is okay, so far so good, and for mascara I have not find one that I really love but this one does the job, Pur Big Look Waterproof with argan oil or They are real by Benefit.

I hope you enjoy this coming season as much I am loving it. See you next time :)

Taking care of your skin

Before I start explaining my routine let me tell you that "I have been bless with normal skin". In my teenager years, I did not have break up, acne or big black heads. However, I always took good care of my skin. I try to never sleep with make up on and once/twice a week a do a intense face cleanser.

Everyday

Every morning after washing my face I apply two pumps of Clinique Lotion + (need to get a new one) and one pump of Lacome Advance Genifique serum. Then I apply my eye cream, Clinique all about eyes.
This works as a perfect before applying my make up and makes my skin fell good all day long.

Every night before going to bed I take my make up off with Rimmel eye make up remover and Clean and Clears deep cleaning astringent lotion. After that I apply my everyday lotion as named above.

Once/twice a week

After a crazy week and when my skin is feeling gross. I do a deep cleansing. First, I take all my make up of with Julep cleansing oil; with my skin still feeling wet, I apply a strong skin exfoliator like Dr Brant or Derma e. Both of then leave my skin feeling extra soft.

Because those exfoliator are really strong my skin needs an extra moisture, that is when my Arbone intense hydrator mask takes place. I leave it for about 10 to 15 minutes; I take it off and then I apply my everyday moisture routine.

Shower routine

Every time, I take a shower, I alternate between two products Avon blemish clearing and Loreal go 360 Clean. These items are designe to clean, avoid blemishes and black heads. I am 100% sure that the combination of this two items had helped me to have a clean skin.

Lips

Lips are part of your skin and you must take care of them. That is why I used the best lip balm in the market, Smith's. I had these lip balm for over 2 years and I used it everyday.

Tips that works

  1. Never, never, never sleep with your make up on.
  2. Once a week look at your skin. See if there is a problematic zone, pimples or black heads that needs to be treated.
  3. Use products that works on your skin.
  4. Before compromising in one product, ask for samples. Places like Sephora, Hudson Bay and so on, have available samples of all product they sell. Do not buy it if you are not sure is going to work.
  5. Love your skin, some of us have more hair, pimples, acne, black head, and much more just work with it.

Perfecting the red lip

Let me tell you something  first,  I have the thinnest lips ever, plus they tend to get really dry and my left size of it is bigger than the other! I know my lips are not normal but well, you always need to find something that works for you and I found it.

I have been looking for a nice, durable and suiting routine that will give me the perfect red lips. We all know, that maintaining a strong colour that stay for at least a couple of hours without fading and getting into your teeth is really hard; specially if you talk, eat and kiss like any other normal person.

After trying millions of lipsticks and tips, I found the magic routine that help my lips look fuller, glossy and "perfect".

Steps I follow.

1) It is very important that you are really patience. The chances are, it's not going to look perfect the first time you try it. Practice makes perfect.
2) I would recommend you to exfoliate your lips once in a while. I used lip exfoliated by ELF is only $3 and it last a long time.
3) When my lips are smooth, clean and I am done with my face make up. I first apply the Tarte Lip Surgence lip tint in Elite. This gives a nice sheer red look plus it helps to protect them and works as a primer for the lipstick.
4) Then I lined my lips with Lancome Lip contour in Cherry. I start with the bottom part and make sure to follow the original shape of my lips.
5) Now the hard part, filling the lips. I used Sephora Cream Lip Stain in colour 01. I also, start with the bottom part and them do my top. I follow the lip counter.
This is the best red color that I have ever used. It is long lasting and it dries matte. It last around 4 hours without smashing or fading. After that I recommend to reapplied if you wanna keep the color.
